Review:
We'll this isn't the BEST animated bear movie I have seen lately but at least it wasn't a forty year old fan boy director running the same jokes into the ground for almost two hours. Now when you see animated feature films, you expect a certain percentage of it to have very subtle (or in the case of a Disney movie not so subtle) adult humour for the adults who will undoubtedly have to sit through the entire film multiple times. We'll oddly enough this one had absolutely no adult humour to it. It was straight up a full on kids movie. That being said, it's quite hard to review & judge it because it your looking too much into a KIDS movie, your just a jackass. I thought that Dan Aykroyd & Justin Timberlaker were great choices for the lead roles. Both were funny at times, sounded much like they both did in the cartoons way back when. Tom Cavanagh was horrible. He had zero comedic timing, but again it was because he was acting for children. So the dramatic pauses were silly, the fact that they made him seem like a complete moron almost ruined a lot of the funny parts. Just thought even for a kids movie he was lame, unfunny & too goofy. Then you have Anna Faris. You obviously know that the film is going to be terrific when she is one of the stars. She been in so many block buster movies over the years that anything she does will be a box office success..... She is just as terrible as usual. Stupid overly exaggerated facial expressions coupled with weird voice changes & also being a hippie type girl like she's played before. I honestly watched this movie because of a completely absurd reason. Listening to an incredible podcast called: Doug Loves Movies (check out iTunes, it's free) & hearing comedian Pete Holmes do his T.J. Miller impersonation saying "YEAH! I'M IN MOVIES YEAH! YOGI BEAR". So I watched the entire movie just to see T.J. Miller.... I was surprised how long he was in the movie for. I kind of assumed he was going to play a smaller stoner role who has maybe 5 scenes. He was actually a really big part of the film. That being said, didn't really have any big comedic spots, no laughs but at least he tried. Overall it's a good kids film, there is a very good chance your not going to like it but it's not aimed at anyone over 10 anyways.
