Review:
Seriously, The Cohen Brothers have never done anything that hasn't been one of the top films in no matter what genre they are doing. Every single one of their films has been a box office success & has done nothing but become award winning & critically acclaimed masterpieces. This one is, in my opinion, one of the very best. So it's an adaptation of an epic poem by Homer, it's set in the 1930's & has an awesome back drop including small towns, wheat fields & prison farms. Plus so much more. George Clooney is clever, funny & as usual just a show stealer. Turturro & Blake Nelson are not to be out done as they both deliver great performances. Both are funny, great characters & fine actors. Supporting cast is lead by an outstanding performance by John Goodman. God damn does he have a hilariously funny character. The rest of the supporting cast has good character actors who all add everything needed to this story & film. Cinematography is great, just there is nothing bad that I can say about this film at all. Really the only thing that I can't get behind is this film has one thing that I really cannot stand in films BUT am willing to let it go because of who the lead actors are. When they have a song written specifically for the film & they have the lead actors mouthing the words as they "perform it". I'm letting it slide because of how much of a great song it is & because Clooney does no wrong. Incredible songs throughout the entire film, all written for the film & produced by T Bone Burnett Grammy Award winning musician who does some great soundtracks.  Awesome Film. SEE THIS FILM!!!
