Synopsis:
In April of 2010, Spanish police reported the discovery of 37 hours of recorded evidence that shed new light on a gruesome murder investigation. The found footage documents a family of five spending their holidays at their summer house, where brother-and-sister Cristian and July Quintanilla pass the time investigating a terrifying local urban legend. As their investigation intensifies, strange occurrences in and around the house escalate rapidly, before culminating in unspeakable atrocities.

Review:
Spanish found footage horror film centering around a family going to their vacation home & the brother & sister decide that they are going to look into a local urban legend that just so happens to be on the property that their summer home is on. Now what might put a lot of you off this one is that there is no English dubbing track for it so your only choice is to watch in it Spanish with English Subtitles. Now if you can get past that lets keep talking. Look, it's a found footage film, so you know what your getting yourself into. A somewhat long build up, some small stuff to start you off & then an overly intense, vomit inducing climax that usually end on the sour note of the main (or final main) character getting offed & like dragged off the screen or something along those lines. We'll this one does in fact follow the same pattern but maybe with very slight twinges to that formula. It starts off with some slow moving build up, a little bit of comedy thrown in, then it gets to the small stuff happening, but then it takes a different turn. It doesn't take another 30 minutes of is there actually something? Lets try & film some proof bull. Hells No. It goes right into the world of in the dark labrynths & night vision attacks. Oh there's something out there alright, now you just have to not get killed. It is pretty intense even though you know what to expect to see. I don't know if it's because smaller budget in Spain is so much more smaller budget than America. But it is also the fact that when your running around in the dark in an ancient Spanish labrynth full of trees, bushes & stone statues & pillar but every one of those cast a shadow that look exactelly like shadows of people. Also too the fact that it's not just a stationary camera looking at part of a room, nor a camera attatched to a altertered fan that can go back & forth in one room. The plot was average but still creative enough to keep you interested. At times it's pretty gruesome but the production value is obviously pretty low so take that as you want. The climax however is pretty bad & sure it reveals some major plot & story, but it's all mashed up & jumbled around so your completely lost. Big let down for a movie that I had high hopes for. Can't wait for America to rape & spit all of this & make a higher budgeted lame remake that will get shit reviews & just remind everyone of Paranormal Activity.
