Review:
Not much difference from the original, some new characters, some new villains but overall it's very similar in plot & story. Tony Curran joins in as Marcus the last remaining elder & original vampire who is looking to rescue his brother William who was the first Lycan. His vampire look is very ridiculous & over the top, even including wings with sharp ends that he uses to stab people. The CGI is actually slightly worse looking than the first even though it was 3 years later. The lead acting is exactly the same because it's mostly the same people. Beckinsale is still good at action, decent at acting. Speedman is lame & boring. You have a few flashback scenes that include the people from the first film (Sheen, Brolly, Nighy). However it doesn't have the powerful performance of Bill Nighy to keep the pace & intensity going. Tony Curran is good but he's no Billy Nighy. Overall it's just the same stuff as the original, it does run slightly shorter though which is good.
