Review:
I'm going to go ahead & assume that most people did not see this, some probably didn't even hear about this reboot/remake of the Marvel Hero/Vigilante. First of all, so much that I want to say about this film I would just be ripping off something else. Do yourself a favour & go to iTunes, downloaded a FREE podcast called "How Did This Get Made" & look up the one of this film. It will easily describe why this movie is AWESOME!!!!. OK so this isn't a sequel to the Thomas Jane & John Travolta film made in 2004 but a complete overhaul & reimaginating of the Marvel character. This film has so much more of a comic book feel to it. In other superhero movie's they try & make them a little bit more realistic, with more humanistic characters & villains. We'll this one plays it a lot closer to a comic, with characters that are so over the top obsurd yet so incredibly evil & comic book like. The characters played by Dominic West & Doug Hutchison (Lost Alumni) are so over the top & unrealistic yet are such evil criminals that you can't not be invested in seeing them die. Could be one of West's best roles. Ray Stevenson brings to the Punisher character a lot more of a bad ass, shoot first take names later type of flawed non-heroic hero. His intensity is overwhelming yet his softer side does show through at certain points. The blood, guts & gore of this film is just over the top & unrelenting. An Awesome, Kick-Ass action film with hilariously awesome fight scenes, outrageous kill scenes & badassness. Good supporting cast of characters with a great performance by Dash Mihok.
