Synopsis:
"The Iron Lady" is a surprising and intimate portrait of Margaret Thatcher, the first and only female Prime Minister of The United Kingdom. One of the 20th century's most famous and influential women, Thatcher came from nowhere to smash through barriers of gender and class to be heard in a male dominated world.

Review:
A dramatic look at the life & times of Margaret Thatcher. The film is spread out between Margaret in her elderly years, slowly losing her grasp on life & suffering from early dementia also while dealing with the loss of her husband, who she still sees even though he's dead. The other half of it is her looking at things from her past & then flashing back to that time in her past. At time was slow moving, slightly boring & way too much talking. I will say that Streep does an incredible job of being Thatcher, no wonder she won the academy award for lead actress. The cut scenes between the film & actual footage of the things she had to deal with during her time as prime minister. Was a slight history lesson, only because I didn't really know anything about the Falkland Islands war. Overall it was what you'd expect from a biographical picture about a political figure. Glad that it wasn't 2 hours plus, would have made it a lot harder to watch. Jim Broadbent is hilarious in his role as her husband, who for the most part is playing a ghost that only Margaret can see.
