Synopsis:
Sergeant Gerry Boyle, a salty village cop in Ireland, has a subversive sense of humor, a caustic wit, and an uncanny knack for keeping people at arm's length. When a straitlaced FBI agent chasing an international drug-smuggling ring hits town, Boyle has no intention of letting the arrival disrupt his routine of hookers and wisecracks. Initially, he relishes offending and ridiculing the agent, but a murder and a series of peculiar events draw the reluctant sergeant into the investigation.

Review:
A movie to showcase the outstanding acting & comedy of Brendan Gleeson. It is simply comedic brilliance. Gleeson is smart, witty & laugh out loud enjoyable. Don Cheadle is the perfect compliment to the outlandish, carefree & hilarious Gleeson. They have incredible interactions throughout that prove to be the staple of the film. The supporting cast is lead by Mr. Bad guy himself Mark Strong, who I'm pretty sure has taken over the reigns as the man who plays the villain in everything. (previously held by the late great Dennis Hopper). Liam Cunningham brings the comedic aspect from the villain roles & is backed up by Irish actor David Wilmot who adds funny parts here & there. The plot was funny, but reminded me of Hot Fuzz slightly. There are parts that might be slightly hard to follow, only because it is an Irish film & some of the humour might not carry over the ocean very well. Gleeson = Incredible that's all you need to know about this film. Director John Michael McDonagh's brother Martin directed an even better film entitled "In Bruges" starring Gleeson & Colin Farrell. Talented family if you ask me.
