Review:
This review is another first for me. It's the first time I will have reviewed a movie right after I have finished watching it. George Clooney & Ryan Gosling, two of the world's sexiest men alive starring in....a political drama. No shirts off in this one ladies. For the lack of toplessness there is plenty of secrets, lies, deceit & intensity. Less action than your usual political thrillers, but slightly more than a courtroom drama. The lead roles in this film over take the screen with a commanding presence. Ryan Gosling does a very good job of showing the constant battle between right & wrong in the world of politics. Clooney has his usual charm, shown through his sexy smirk & greying hair. This marks the second time Clooney has written, directed & starred in the same film (Good Night, & Good Luck). Character acting in the film is at a very high level. You get great performances from Giamatti, Wood & Tomei. Would have liked to see a little bit more from Jeffrey Wright however. The film did have, like a lot of political movies, its moments where its hard to keep yourself interested in the dialogue of the life behind the politics of a potential American presidential candidate. Other than minimal loss of intrigue this film delivers great acting & a great plot. SEE THIS FILM!!
