Review:
A film that I have wanted to see for a very long time & just recently did. I have always enjoyed Bruce's work, his philosophies and his ability. The story briefly begins when Bruce is younger & his father believes that a demon is after Bruce so he sends him back to America to pursue his dreams. However once Bruce arrives back in the United States he finds him self faced with the racism and misunderstanding of the western world. He starts off working as a dish washer in a Chinese restaurant, then advances his knowledge by attending the University Of Washington where he met his future wife. Following the opening of his very first martial arts school in Seattle some other Chinese martial arts schools felt that he should not train non-Chinese, and they challenge him to fight Johnny Sun (John Cheung) to resolve the issue. Bruce wins the fight but Sun attacks Bruce from behind after the fight is over, resulting in a serious back injury. Then we get the montage of Bruce recovering from his back injury while writing his book "The Tao of Jeet Kune Do" with his wife. The movie follows the rest of Bruce's life through his Hong Kong Movie career, his role as "Kato" on The Green Hornet TV Show, the birth of his two children Brandon & Shannon & everything else up until his mysterious death. The film concludes with an amazingly done final fight sequence between Bruce & The demon his father had feared was after him since childhood as Bruce protects his Son Brandon from the same demon. The ending of the film is voiced over by Bruce's wife Linda saying how she wanted to tell the story of Bruce's life, not his death.
