Synopsis:
The ruthless leader of a New York
City drug syndicate battles to maintain his power and avoid imprisonment
in this fast-moving action drama. While the film's heroes are Scotty
(Ice-T) and Nick (Judd Nelson), a pair of tough, streetwise cops, the
main focus is their target, drug lord Nino Brown (Wesley Snipes). A
criminal businessman with no room for pity or emotion, the flashy but
severe Brown has built an empire and transformed an abandoned Harlem
apartment building into a well-defended fortress. He begins to consider
himself invincible, but his lust for power and the unpredictable actions
of a former client turned police informer threaten to bring about his
potential downfall.
Review:
I could not have felt any more white than I already am watching this movie. Some bad ass gangster action. Tons of carnage, killing & blood shed. Charismatic performances by Snipes, Ice-T & Judd Nelson. The story is perfectly written & has a great sequence of events that builds up to the incredible finale. Have absolutely nothing bad to say about this movie. Wasn't entirely sure that I would like it because I figured it would be more "black" than I could understand but it wasn't at all. However, what a goddamn terrible character name for Ice-T. Scotty Appleton, are you serious? Sounds like something from an animated film or something. Easily the best acting Wesley Snipes has ever done. Not the best Snipes movie, but if were going only off of acting then yeah it's this one. Loved The Fan way more than this one.
